Ferinject injection
Ferinject Injection (Ferric Carboxymaltose) is an intravenous iron therapy used for the treatment of iron deficiency anemia (IDA), particularly in cases where oral iron supplements are ineffective or poorly tolerated. It helps replenish iron stores quickly, supporting red blood cell production and improving hemoglobin levels.
Each vial of Ferinject contains 500mg of elemental iron in a stable ferric carboxymaltose complex, designed for controlled and safe iron release into the bloodstream. It is suitable for patients with chronic kidney disease, inflammatory bowel disease, heart failure-related anemia, or heavy menstrual bleeding leading to iron deficiency.
Healthcare professionals administer Ferinject through an IV infusion or slow injection in a clinical setting. The dosage and infusion schedule depend on the patient’s body weight and the severity of iron deficiency. Ferinject allows the administration of high doses in a single session, which reduces the need for multiple infusions.
Patients usually experience improvement in symptoms like fatigue, weakness, and shortness of breath within a few weeks after treatment. Doctors will monitor iron levels and hemoglobin during the course of therapy to assess treatment response and prevent iron overload.
Store Ferinject vials at room temperature (15°C – 25°C). Do not freeze. Protect the product from light and keep it out of reach of children.
