Zoloft 50mg Tablet is an antidepressant drug. It is used to treat depression and anxiety symptoms. It may also help prevent the recurrence of depression. Each tablet of Zoloft 50mg contains the active ingredient Sertraline, which belongs to the class of drugs called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs).
How effective is Zoloft 50mg?
Zoloft 50mg Tablet is an effective and safe antidepressant. Its use is indicative in the treatment of major depressive episodes and their recurrence, social anxiety disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and panic disorder. Zoloft 50mg works by increasing the levels of serotonin in the brain. Serotonin, a neurotransmitter, is vital for a good mood and the feelings of happiness and well-being.
What dose should I choose?
In adults, the recommended initial dose is 1 Tablet (50 mg) taken orally once a day. Maximum 200mg can be taken in a day.
In children and adolescents aged 13-17 years, the recommended initial dose is 1 Tablet (50 mg) taken orally once a day or in divided doses.
In children aged 6-12 years, the recommended initial dose is ½ Tablet (25 mg) taken orally once a day, which may be increased to 1 Tablet (50 mg) daily after a week, if required.
If you skip a dose by any chance, take it as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it’s almost time for the next one. Do not double the dose.
