About Modact-Ir
Modact-Ir Tablet is a pain relief medication. It is used for the treatment of mild to moderate pains caused by certain conditions, such as arthritis. Modact-Ir contains the active ingredient Nimesulide.
How effective is Modact-Ir?
Modact-Ir is a Non-Steroidal Anti Inflammatory Drug (NSAID) used to treat fever and other inflammatory conditions, including post-operative pain, symptoms of osteoarthritis and menstrual cramps. Modact-Ir provides fast pain relief. It works by inhibiting the production of certain chemicals which cause pain signals and inflammation in the body. It also protects tissues from damage during inflammation.
What dose should I choose?
In adults, the usual dose for the treatment of period cramps, osteoarthritis, post-operative pain or acute pains is 1 tablet (100 mg) per day. It may be increased to 1 tablet every 12 hours if needed.
The usual dose for adolescents (12-18 years) is also 1 tablet (100 mg) per day.
This drug is not intended for use in children under the age of 12.
Modact-Ir should be taken after a meal.
What are the side-effects and other warnings when taking Modact-Ir?
Many individuals take Modact-Ir without experiencing any side-effects. Some side-effects disappear on their own as your body becomes adjusted to the drug.
Some common and uncommon side-effects of Modact-Ir include:
- Upset stomach
- Abdominal cramps
- Nausea
- Rash
- Vomiting
Do not use Modact-Ir if you are allergic to the active ingredient Nimesulide or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. This drug should be avoided if you are suffering from or have a history of severe liver or kidney disease or you plan on becoming pregnant. The active ingredient Nimesulide may impair female fertility.
Notify your doctor about any prescription/nonprescription drugs you may be taking.
If you are pregnant, might become pregnant, or think you may be pregnant or breast-feeding or planning to breast-feed, notify your doctor or a pharmacist before using this drug.
