About Mixel 400mg
Mixel 400mg Capsule is a broad-spectrum antibiotic medication. It is used for the treatment of various bacterial infections, including infections of the respiratory tract (such as bronchitis and pneumonia) and the urinary tract (such as cystitis). Each capsule of Mixel 400mg contains the active ingredient Cefixime, which is a semisynthetic cephalosporin antibiotic.
How effective is Mixel 400mg?
Mixel 400mg Capsule belongs to the Cephalosporin class of antibiotics and has bactericidal (bacteria-killing) properties. It is used for the treatment of many bacterial infections such as gonorrhoea, tonsillitis, pneumonia, throat infections, otitis media and urinary tract infections (UTIs). Mixel 400mg works by preventing bacterial cell wall synthesis. Without their cell walls, most bacteria cannot survive.
What dose should I choose?
In adults and children over the age of 10 years, the usual dose is 1 tablet (400 mg) taken orally once per day.
This drug is not recommended for use in children below the age of 10.
If you skip a dose by any chance, take it as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it’s almost time for the next one. Do not double the dose.
What are the side-effects and other warnings when taking Mixel 400mg?
Many individuals using Mixel 400mg do not experience any side-effects. Some common and uncommon side-effects include:

- Stomach upset
- Vomiting
- Skin rash
- Dizziness
- Joint pain
