About Larinex
Larinex Tablet is an antihistamine. It is used for the symptomatic treatment of hay fever, urticaria and other allergies characterised by runny and itching nose, watery eyes, sneezing, etc. Each tablet of Larinex contains the active ingredient Desloratadine.
How effective is Larinex?
Larinex Tablet is a very effective treatment option for the relief of allergies. Its use is indicated in the treatment of seasonal allergic rhinitis (hay fever), perennial allergic rhinitis and chronic idiopathic urticaria. Larinex treats nasal and non-nasal symptoms, such as itchy skin, red watery eyes, and hives. Larinex works by inhibiting the release of histamine, a natural substance present in the body which causes allergy symptoms.
What dose should I choose?
In adults and children over the age of 12 years, the usual recommended dose is 1 tablet (5 mg) of Larinex taken orally once per day. The dose can be taken with a meal.
This drug is not intended for use in children below the age of 12 years.
If you skip a dose by any chance, take it as soon as you remember. Skip the already missed dose if it’s almost time for the next one. Do not double the dose.
What are the side-effects and other warnings when taking Larinex?
Many individuals taking Larinex do not experience any side-effects. Some common side-effects may include:
- Dizziness
- Diarrhoea
- Headache
- Dry mouth
- Drowsiness
- Sore throat
- Muscle pain
If you experience any side-effects that persist or worsen or any unusual symptoms, contact your doctor immediately.
