Gouric 40mg Tablet is a gout medication. It used to bring down uric acid levels in individuals with gout. Each tablet of Gouric 40mg contains the active ingredient Febuxostat, which works by lowering the increased uric acid levels in the body. It helps relieve symptoms of gout like swelling, redness, stiffness and pain in the joints.
How effective is Gouric 40mg?
Febuxostat is a quite effective treatment option as it belongs to a group of drugs called xanthine oxidase inhibitors. Xanthine oxidase is an enzyme that plays a role in the formation of uric acid from the chemical substance xanthine inside the body. Elevated levels of uric acid in the blood cause gout and Gouric 40mg lowers these increased levels.
What dose should I choose?
In adults, the usual recommended dose is 1 tablet (40 mg) taken orally once per day. The dose may be increased to 2 tablets (80 mg) by your doctor.
This drug is not intended for use in children under the age of 18.
If you skip a dose by any chance, take it as soon as you remember. Skip the already missed dose if it’s almost time for the next one. Do not double the dose.
