Caricef 400mg Capsule is an antibiotic medication. It is used for the treatment of bacterial infections of the upper and lower respiratory tracts, and the urinary tract. Each capsule of Caricef 400mg contains the active ingredient Cefixime, which is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic.
How effective is Caricef 400mg?
Caricef 400mg Capsule is an effective antibacterial agent. Its use is indicated in the treatment of various infections caused by bacteria, including otitis media, bronchitis, cystourethritis, tonsillitis, cystitis, and uncomplicated gonorrhoea. Caricef 400mg works by binding with certain proteins present inside the bacterial cells and causes the inhibition of cell wall synthesis in them. This stops the bacterial growth and kills them.
What dose should I choose?
In adults, the recommended dose is 1 capsule taken orally once per day. The dose can be taken with a meal.
In children above the age of 12 and weighing 45 kg or more, the recommended dose is 1 capsule taken orally once per day.
If you skip a dose by any chance, take it as soon as you remember. Skip the already missed dose if it’s almost time for the next one. Do not double the dose.
