Amaryl 4mg Tablet is a diabetes medication and is used to regulate high blood sugar in people suffering from type 2 diabetes mellitus. Each tablet of Amaryl 4mg contains the active ingredient Glimepiride, which is a compound belonging to the Sulfonylureas group and is used as a hypoglycemic agent.
How effective is Amaryl 4mg?
Amaryl 4mg Tablet is paired with an effective diet and exercise plan to control high blood sugar levels for individuals with type 2 diabetes. It can be paired with other diabetes medications as well. Amaryl 4mg helps by preventing damage to the kidney, nerves, limbs, sexual functions and prevents blindness. It further helps reduce the risk of a heart attack and/or stroke. Amaryl 4mg works by increasing the natural secretion of the insulin hormone to lower blood sugar levels.
What dose should I choose?
In adults, the usual dose is 1 tablet (4 mg) taken orally once per day. The dose should be taken at breakfast time.
Amaryl 4mg is not recommended for use in children.
If you skip a dose by any chance, take it as soon as you remember. Skip the already missed dose if it’s almost time for the next one. Do not double the dose.
