About Sivab 5mg
Sivab 5mg Tablet is an antianginal medication. It is used for the treatment of heart-associated chest pain (angina) and heart failure. Each 5mg Tablet of Sivab contains the active ingredient Ivabradine, which belongs to the class of drugs called hyperpolarization-activated cyclic nucleotide-gated (HCN) channel blockers.
How effective is Sivab 5mg?
Sivab 5mg Tablet is an effective antiarrhythmic and antianginal drug. Its use is indicated for the treatment and management of stable angina pectoris in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) with or without beta-blockers, and chronic heart failure. Sivab 5mg works by decreasing the heart rate, helping the heart pump more blood through the body with every beat.
What dose should I choose?
In adults (18 and above), for the treatment of coronary artery disease, the recommended initial dose of Sivab is 1 Tablet (5 mg) taken twice a day. This dose may be gradually increased, depending upon the treatment response and tolerability.
In adults (18 and above), for the treatment of chronic heart failure, the recommended dose of Sivab is 1 Tablet (5 mg) taken twice a day.
Sivab 5mg Tablet is not recommended for use in children below the age of 18 years.
If you skip a dose by any chance, take it as soon as you remember. Skip the already missed dose if it’s almost time for the next one. Do not double the dose.
What are the side-effects and other warnings when taking Sivab 5mg?
Some common and uncommon side-effects when taking Sivab 5mg include:
- Blurred vision
- Visual impairment
- Headache
- Dizziness
- Nausea
- Abdominal pain
- Diarrhoea
- Muscle spasms
